Friday, June 10

After Josh went for his morning hike, where he left his
mark on behalf of the family...

...we said goodbye to Logan and Jax (the resident
dogs at Bear Paw Lodge), packed our bags (seems
my brothers and I have inherited our Dad's
method of organizing luggage) and headed north.

Tom failed to tell us about the helicopter crash,
the risk of tsunami and now we find out that to
get to Whittier you have to go through the longest
vehicle/train tunnel in North America!  The 2.5 mile drive
into the depths of the mountain wasn't the worse part...

...but paying $13 and waiting 1/2 hour on each side
for the train and other cars to pass through was not expected.

Once in Whittier, we enjoyed the sights of the harbor and
some really good Halibut (origin: hali (holy) and
butte (flounder), so named as being eaten on holy holidays).
Group selfies are improving!!

The house where we are staying is in the mountains,
a roaring river down the hill and
sightings of moose tracks and scat.

 Enjoyed a game before bed.

Won't say who won!!
Looking forward to what tomorrow brings!
